Tech Stock Update: Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S), Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T)
Several more tech stocks could see some changes today. The following listed companies should see some movement: Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S), Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T).
Here is a more detailed look at stories affecting the firms’ stock prices.
Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S)

Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) has announced unlimited 4G, but hints at usage-based pricing in the future. Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) CEO Dan Hesse was one of the visitors in the Emerging Technology Conference, hosted by MIT, and he divulged the company’s plan to charge their customers on a consumption basis.
Today, their 4G wireless service is being offered to the public as part of unlimited date plan. However if more and more people use it, they will be forced to make it usage-based.
Hesse explained, “We can offer unlimited data, as long as usage on the network is reasonable, But if I have an all-you-can-eat buffet, and the entire New England Patriots football team shows up for dinner, it’s going to run me out of business.”
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT)

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has announced a rewards program to entice users to its Bing search engine. The latest announcement from the software maker is aimed at attracting internet users into using its search engine Bing as the primary search choice.
According to the report from Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT), the Bing reward program is arranged so that users will get credits based on their usage. The earned credits can be used to purchase products or donate to charities.
It was reported that Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) needs the users to have a Bing bar on their web browser in order to get enrolled to the program.
AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T)

AT&T (NYSE:T) has announced it will eliminate 151 jobs in various areas. The company has taken such a step as the number of customers using traditional landlines continues to drop, but many of these workers would opt for other positions in the company.
The union officials said that though these jobs are paid less, the union contract guarantees the right to transfer to another job, but the elimination of jobs are feared to harm customer service quality.
There will probably be more movement as the exchanges continue for Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S), Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) and AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T).
