Tech Stock Update: Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)
Several tech stocks could see some changes today. The following stocks should see some movement: Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG).
Here is a more detailed look at stories affecting the firms’ stock prices.
Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT)

Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) has trumped Google as the default search provider on Android phones at Verizon stores.
As a continuation of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT)’s assault on Google, the new Samsung I-400 Android phone which will arrive at Verizon shortly, will have Bing as the default search engine.
Although the new strategy is considered to be tough in the long run, it is expected to cause some headaches for Google up-front, as it has been giving Android away for free, planning to make money when people make use of their services such as email, search maps etc.
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has a lot of good coming from the iPad.
The latest report from DisplaySearch, dated September 30, reveals that the new tablet from Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has really boosted the mobile PC shipment rates.
The NDP research firm has said that the Mac maker’s iPad has stolen market share from the netbook segment, with shipments of 3.3 Million. The high average selling price [ASP] of iPads could lift the overall revenue figures.
Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)

Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) has announced an exciting new photo storage format.
WebP, the latest image format introduced by the search engine giant, is claimed to be having the smallest image size for all commonly shared image files.
Richard Rabbat, a product manager for Google, wrote in a post that “To improve on the compression that JPEG provides, we used an image compressor based on the VP8 codec that Google open-sourced in May 2010. We applied the techniques from VP8 video intra frame coding to push the envelope in still image coding. We also adapted a very lightweight container based on RIFF.”
We could see more movement as the stock markets continue for Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT), Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) and Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG).
