Matt Frost, Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) senior business product manager for the WebM Project, said that, “CCL members are joining this effort because they realize that the entire web ecosystem – users, developers, publishers, and device makers – benefits from a high-quality, community developed, open-source media format. We look forward to working with CCL members and the web standards community to advance WebM’s role in HTML5 video.”

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) has released a hardware firmware update for 2010 iMacs.
The firmware update released by Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is for mid-2010 iMac systems that are having some issues with the booting process.

According to reports, the update is just a 767K download, which is available via software update or direct download.

As one of the issues addressed in the fix is related to storage devices, it may be necessary to reboot the system.

Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) has planned to hire 300 new employees for its new Miramar call center.
A statement released by Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) said that its is planning to open a new Spanish-language call center in Miramar, creating 300 jobs by year-end.

Spanish-speaking consumers across the country who are responding to Comcast’s (NASDAQ:CMCSA) marketing efforts will be supported by the employees at the new center.

Filemon Lopez, senior vice president of Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) Florida East Coast Region, said, “Philadelphia-based Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) chose South Florida for the call center because of the pool of talent that exists in Miramar and surrounding areas. One location answering Spanish-language customer calls will help Comcast (NASDAQ:CMCSA) leverage all the tools and training. We felt our markets would be better served that way.”
