The bidding war between the giants has almost reached an end as Dell (NASDAQ:DELL) decided not to increase their offer and to end discussions over the same.
According to the latest info, Hewlett Packard has increased their offer from $30 per share to $33 per share while commercial relationship and an increased break-up fee were the new proposals from Dell (NASDAQ:DELL).
Dell’s (NASDAQ:DELL) senior vice president of Corporate Strategy Dave Johnson said that “We took a measured approach throughout the process and have decided to end these discussions.”
Cisco Systems Inc. (NASDAQ:CSCO)

The network equipment maker is in plans to enter and expand business in the smart grid market.
The newest plan to acquire the start-up Arch Rock is a significant move towards becoming an established presence in the market.
The new acquisition deal came out a day after Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) announced that it is joining hands with Itron Inc for developing communication platforms for smart grids.
Laura Ipsen, senior vice president and head of Cisco’s Smart Grid business said that “This acquisition further positions Cisco as a strategic partner to utilities working to better manage power supply and demand, improve the security and reliability of energy delivery, and optimize operational costs.”
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)

Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) said it will drop support for software updates on previous versions of its Apple TV. In a press release event in San Francisco, the company has officially announced that the old Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) TV owners will no longer be getting any software updates from the company.
The newest development came after the introduction of a revamped model this week.
The event was also used to introduce a new range of iPods, a newer version of iTunes and several OS previews.
